Technical information
Components
A multi-faceted, super purity, bright anodised, circular asymmetrical, aluminium reflector, with an aluminum light spillage/glare shield and lamp cap.
A lampholder unit for and including 150, 70 or 35 Watt Philips CDM -T compact discharge lamps, with electronic control rear and tray.
A 4mm thick toughened clear glass soft panel, as above 'A' or 595sq. to sit into a standard suspended ceiling grid. As an additional option, acid etched film can be applied to the glass to mask the reflector.
Design
Cyclops overcomes the inefficiencies experienced, when providing illumination for display cabinets or shelving, where the light will not penetrate to the lower shelves due to the density of displayed objects.
With a conventional luminaire, light distribution is a 'cross over' beam, with the light traveling outwards from its source.
Whereas Cyclops directs light via the facets in the reflector, providing illumination to every millimetre of display area. Light passes to the area below, even when the shelves above are displayed, as all spaces left will pass light. This unique concept enhances the method of illumination to a level never achieved before.
Positioning
Cyclops can be positioned either within a display soffit/cabinet or above if the display is open or glass topped. eg. in a suspended ceiling. [ heights up to 3M have been successfully and effectively installed ]
Glare shield / lamp cap
The Shield eliminates glare and light spillage, enabling viewing of displayed objects close up, without hindrance.
Heat
The heat from a CDM -T lamp is substantially less than a Tungsten Halogen Dichroic lamp and also the reflector acts as a 'heat sink'. Heat build up, should no longer be accepted as an inevitable consequence of lighting.
